Prizes, honors and awards

Several current and previous colleagues from the department have been the recipients of prestigious prizes, for example Erik K. Fernström prize or the Göran Gustafsson prize. Moreover, Umeå University has several Honorary doctorates in the field of Molecular Biology awarded to much appreciated colleagues nationally and internationally. A number of professors at the department also contribute to the important work done by the Swedish Royal Academy of Science.
